Wire harnesses are often confused with cable assemblies, but the two are quite different. The main difference is that a cable assembly usually has only two ends, while a wire harness contains multiple branches (ends) that extend in many different directions, and each branch has multiple terminals.
Cable assemblies are most commonly used in the transportation industry, including automobiles, buses, trucks, and airplanes. Construction machinery, industrial equipment, electronic products and white goods (household appliances) will also be manufactured using wire harnesses.
